On our recent trip to KL, we chanced upon Village Roast Duck Restaurant at level 7
KL Pavilion. We decided to give it a try. Wow! It is a gem.
This is not a very posh restaurant. It is like the ever present Din Tai Foong. In fact, it was just next to DTF. The dining area is big. Almost full house when we were there. Service is prompt and efficient.
We ordered the 2 combinations of BBQ meat – roast duck and roast pork. What captures my heart is the crispy cracking skin of the roast pork. It is just heavenly sinful pleasure. The meat itself is juicy. Does not have overpowering porky taste. The best roast pork I ever tasted so far. The roast duck is also awesome.
The seafood Cantonese fried hor fun has the ‘wok hei’ taste that everyone is talking about. I find it little high on the salty side.
Another dish is the mixed seafood fried rice. Very well done with little oil.
The beancurd with Hoshimeji mushrooms is deliciously fried. It will go well with white rice.
For three of us, the bill was RM142 (SGD49). For the roast pork, I will come back next time.
