Daytrip – Asahikawa / Biei / Furano (5th Nov 2015)

Asahikawa
The original plan was to visit Asahikawa zoo.  However, due to my oversight, I did not realise that the zoo was closed at that time.  Disappointed.
As it was still early, we just walked around the shopping street near the station though many shops were not opened.

Biei
Plan B – decided to visit the nearby Biei and if there was time, proceeded to take a look at Furano.  It may not be a right time to visit these 2 places as the lavender fields were all gray.  Since we were so near to Biei, just went ahead.

The little rustic train station at Biei is charming.  No big departmental store or several restaurants inside it.  We had a delightful lunch at Koh Ya Japanese restaurant which was nearby the station.  Price was very reasonable.

After lunch, just walked around the small town.  Did not see many people around.

Furano
As we still had time, we took another train to Furano.  Again the place was peaceful and empty.  The train schedule from Furano back to Asahikawa station is limited.  Need to plan your visit.   I shall now let the pictures I took to do the talking…..
