Hotel Edoya Review

We stayed here for 2 nights. Triple room with attached bathroom. Breakfast included. This is a dated hotel where most of furnitures and design are from the 60s. However, it is quite well maintained. This was the only time we slept on tatami mattresss for our trip. Quite comfortable, though.

We followed the hotel website direction from JR Tokyo Station but still lost the way. The NIJUBASHIMAE station (C10) on Chiyoda subway line we were supposed to take is quite far away from Tokyo Station. It is all the way underground walk. Get off the subway at YUSHIMA station(C13) (4th stop) – exit 5 – Hotel Edoya is on the upper hill side, away from main road. Not quite easy to locate.

The room is big. 2 big arm chairs and a ryokan style sitting table. Green tea is provided. All the normal hotel accessories are provided. In room wifi is weak. Housekeeping is done daily. There is also an onsen at uppler floor for staying guests which we did not use.

Breakfast is served in the restaurant at the basement. I was surprised to find that all utensils used are in paper and plastic considering this is not a guesthouse. Use and throw. Nothing to shout about for the breakfast. It was quite boring.

Across the main road leading to Hotel Edoya, we had a delicious lunch of katsudon. Restaurant is at the corner. Portion was big and price was very reasonable. We were served by an amicable Japanese motherly lady.
