A fine WordPress.com site
We stayed at 7 Days Inn Melaka (formerly known as Mio Boutique Hotel) for 2 nights from 30 May to 1 Jun 2015. This is a budget hotel with no frills. However, it is quite a nice short stay.
It is located just opposite the new shopping mall – The Shore. If you are taking public transport like us – take Panorama bus 17 and alight near Hotel Orkid along Jalan Bendhara (Little India) – cross a busy road toward the direction of Ramada Plaza Hotel (former Renaissance Hotel Melaka) – walk all the way till you see a coffee shop – cross a small road – 7 Days Inn is just at the other end of a building opposite The Shore.
I would not consider the triple room with attached bathroom small. I can accept it because I paid MYR336 (without tax) for 2 njghts with breakfast included. With its parquet flooring and one single bed and double bed, it is quite cosy.
A flat LED TV is provided. There are enough lights to brighten the room. In fact, I find the lights are more than sufficient.
At one corner, a small table and a chair provided. Near the entrance, there is small are to put your luggage or shoes.
Right next to it is the tea and coffee making facility. Strangely, tea is not provided. Only sachets of coffee and Milo. Complimentary bottles of mineral water.
Below it is a small fridge. A small cupboard for your cloth hanging is also provided. Right below is a small safe deposit box which is a bonus for a small hotel.
Air con is strong. Free Wifi though at times not so stable. Electronic door card system. Four computers are available for guests in the breakfast area.
Bathroom is clean and separated by a glass panel from washing sink and WC. Hot and cold water pressure is strong. Free toiletries. Hair dryer. Towels.
Very simple and basic. To give you an idea, how it is like – you will be issued with breakfast voucher when you check-in. Need to produce the voucher when you are go down for breakfast near the reception area.
4 salivary dishes – fried rice and noodle or vermicelli; baked bean and sausages, roti canai ; porridge. Bread – I find it quite stale. Forget about the coffee and tea – too dilute. Watermelon and salad. Well, not 5 star type but enough sustain you until lunch.
Do not expect too much. Check-in is simple. Pay the room amount and MYR50 refundable deposit. Englisj is spoken here. Reception area is small and there is a lift available.
